This ointment is to help with pain and to prevent dryness. The ointment must stay in place for a certain amount of time, which the surgeon will tell you how long this is.
When the process is complete, your skin will be very red and will peel for a few days after this treatment. Because of this, you may want to consider taking off of work. Your doctor may prescribe pain killers for you to take in the beginning. You will have swelling, but it will go down in a few weeks, and your skin may be red for a few months. The main benefit of a deep chemical peel is it will only take one treatment and will last for many years.
